Lynn Edwards Butler is an organist and scholar living in Vancouver, British Columbia. A Loft Recordings artist, she has played concerts on the clavichord, the harpsichord, and on fine tracker organs in Canada, the United States, Europe, and Mexico. She co-founded and for twenty years (1979-99) directed the Westfield Center, a non-profit organization that promotes classical keyboard music and its instruments, and she is currently a member of the editorial board of The American Bach Society. Her scholarly research has focused primarily on Central German organ building. Her work includes the English translation of Christoph Wolf and Markus Zepf’s The Organs of J.S. Bach (University of Illinois Press, 2012). She is currently writing a book on the organs of Leipzig at the time of Bach.
