COVID-19 Protocols from the D&B Committee
Thank you for taking part in the trailblazing Diversity & Belonging: Unsung Keyboard Stories conference on January 26–30! We look forward to hosting you in Ann Arbor or virtually. We will be emailing periodically between now and the conference to keep you up to date.

Given the ever-changing situation with the pandemic, we will now require all conference registrants to show proof of vaccination (and booster for those who qualify) to participate in person. Please bring a photo of your passport or driver's license and a photo of your vaccine and booster card for verification purposes. Even with vaccination, masks will also be required in all indoor spaces.

Students, staff, and faculty are required to be vaccinated at U-M. Masks are required for all indoor spaces on campus. Please download the University of Michigan’s (U-M) Responsiblue App. Perform the daily COVID screenings on the app, and have the app out to show as you check in at registration. To view up-to-date information about COVID on campus, see https://campusblueprint.umich.edu/dashboard/.

If you experience symptoms just prior to or during the conference, please stay home and take a Covid test. We are happy to change your participation to virtual at any time. If you wish to switch to virtual attendance, please email Westfield’s Program Coordinator, Jordan Musser, at jm2354@cornell.edu. Presenters who wish to switch to a remote format should please send their presentations as .mp4 videos no later than January 12 to mbengts@umich.edu, daveschallsound@gmail.com, jm2354@cornell.edu and pamela.ruiterfeenstra@gmail.com.

SphinxConnect (our Friday event) also requires proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID test (a 48 hour-PCR or a 6-hour antigen).

We have many breaks that enhance our opportunities to connect with old and new friends. For our Saturday and Sunday sessions in the Moore Building, new restrictions prohibit us from offering coffee or trays of refreshments during our breaks. We will have bottled water and pre-packaged snacks available. For those of you who start the day best with coffee, we recommend that you fuel up on coffee at the hotel or restaurant.

Thanks for joining us in optimizing the health and safety of all participants!

We anticipate an invigorating conference that will send participants home with many exciting, diverse resources. Our gathering, discussions, and discoveries will be enriched by each one of you, and we’re grateful for your commitment to the conference and to diversity and belonging.

Sincerely,
The D&B Committee
